Hey y'all! I'm Lindsay Munro and I am the owner of Wild Mountain Blossoms. I wanted to start off this first blog post by saying Thank You. Thank you for choosing to follow along on my journey as the owner of a custom floral design studio in the mountains near Asheville, NC.
Wild Mountain Blossoms is getting ready to celebrate its two year anniversary in October of this year, and in honor of this milestone, I wanted to start sharing with you not only all the beautiful weddings that I get to produce, but also my heart and soul behind the business.
For me, Wild Mountain Blossoms has been a long time dream realized. I have been working with flowers for many years as a hobby. I have created the wedding flowers for many of my close friends and family's weddings and have always loved doing so. But, it wasn't until my daughter was 2 and my son was 10 months old, that I decided to pursue turning my long time hobby into a business. And I know you're probably thinking, "Why/How/and Are You Crazy starting a business with two small children?" Honestly, that's what I was thinking at first, but being a stay at home mama gives you lots of time to think about what you want for both yourself and your children. I realized that in order to be the fullest, happiest, most content version of myself, I didn't just want to stay at home with my children. I wanted to create a business that would allow me the freedom to stay at home with my children majority of the time, but that also nourished my creativity and passion, while providing me the opportunity to serve others.
When I started my business, I wanted to set an example for my children of what it looks like to follow your dreams and to risk failure to live your life fully. I am showing them firsthand what hard work plus determination can achieve. I am still able to stay home with them, while also giving to myself and my needs. I am so proud that they will see their mother doing what she loves and facing the challenges that come with business ownership to instill in them not only a great work ethic, but more importantly, how to be of service to others. It was really important to me that my business provided me with an opportunity to connect with people and I am grateful that my work allows me to be a part of one of the most important days of someone's life.
I never would have been able to do any of this though, if it wasn't for my amazingly supportive and loving husband. His faith in me and encouragement that I could do anything I wanted makes me feel 100% supported to pursue this dream of mine.
And so do all of you.
Thank you again for choosing to follow me and support my business. I can't wait to share with you all the beautiful weddings of my amazing couples and my thoughts and tips about business and life.
